I'm Cameron Killiany, a biomedical engineer working in high-reliability hardware. I take products from concept through production: CAD and design for manufacturing, process development, test method design, and the mathematical models that tell you which design decisions actually matter.
Most of that has been as lead engineer and project manager on defense and medical programs, including DoD and NASA hardware, running design, qualification, and production ramp across mechanical, electrical, and quality. Lately the work has leaned toward new product development, though I still get pulled into manufacturing problems.
What I like is the constraint. A line failure that has to be solved by a date and a budget. A design problem that needs a different angle. A test that has to be invented because no existing one answers the question. A model that tells you what a design choice will cost before you commit to it. Different problems, same shape.
